Addicted to Results

Last year I was asked to join a panel to interview The Plastic Cup Boyz. It's one of my favorite radio interviews, not because of the stature of the guests, but because of the content of the interview. The conversation with comedians Na'im Lynn and Spank Horton was very informative and inspiring. One of the highlights of the interview was when Na'im praised his friend Kevin Hart's uncanny work ethic. He harped on the fact that Hart became "addicted to results." He saw his hard work paying off, and he got inspired by it. he didn't need outside motivation. he didn't need words of encouragement. All he needed was to see his work pay off. It's inspired his team to work harder as well, and thus catapulting them to tremendous heights. Those words stuck with me. Positive results from hard work are addictive, and I've been a fiend for success for some time now. I've interviewed superstars, told jokes in front of crowds of thousands, and traveled the country to make people laugh. I've also been blessed to cover my favorite sport. the NBA Panel has taken off like a rocket in a very short amount of time. The biggest reason for that is the host and creator of the show, John Weatherspoon. It's refreshing to have a colleague that works just as hard as you do, sometimes harder. There was a time when I considered myself the hardest worker I knew, but John rivals that. His passion to become a force in sports media is amazing. I'm proud to be a part of his movement. Today, we're covering the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame induction press conference live on NBATV. The NBA Panel podcast isn't even a year old, but we're in the same building as the big dogs; ESPN, FS1, NBATV, TNT sports, Bleacher Report, Sirius XM and a host of other major media outlets. This happened because of John's relentless work ethic and drive. He's turning his passion into his job. I'm proud to say that I played a small part in inspiring him to pursue his dream. He saw the results I was getting through my hard work trying to make my mark on the comedy scene. Together, we have the hottest basketball podcast in the nation, and superstar guests have flocked to be a part of this growing phenomenon. This is only the beginning. There's much work to be done. The great thing about that is, we recognize that and won't rest on our laurels. Star Corner Comedy and 080 Productions will be a force in the entertainment industry for years to come. How do I know? Because we'll be working our asses off to make sure of it.
